There are two kinds of beasts known; The Ethereal, and the Temporal.
The Temporal may be split into the Mechanical and the Biological.
In parallel, the Ethereal may be split into the Developmental and the Intransient.
A Soul is a developmental beast that is bound to a biological beast early in both’s conception. It is generally easy for Souls to produce other, and more numerous Souls. The separation of the Developmental from the Biological, which almost inevitability happens, greatly retards further development of former, and causes the irrecoverable breakdown of the latter.
A Muse is a developmental beast bound by a narrative. That is, it is conceived or enacts it’s interpretation, often with further elaboration. While a narrative can destroy a muse, it rarely actually does so, allowing a safe migration to other narratives when one’s role is complete. A narrative can be as simple as a confirmation of an action taking place… Or almost infinatly complex, as the reassembly of memories is frequently aided by muses. The don’t contradict, they elaborate.
The Intransient is sometimes labeled G-d. That said, several muses have also been drafted into the label and others similar, as well as other types developmental. Given the nature of Intransience, it can both be defined as a single unit and one of many components, possibly facets, at once.
Angels would be categorized as a developmental commanded by the Intransient, Deamons intentionally trying to contradict such commands. Either interacts with a soul more readily than with a purely temporal beast, but neither is trivially done.
There are other categorical interactions.

A narrative can be encoded at multiple levels. Video, memory, audio, spoken, written. Interpretation requires an increasing number of layers.
None of these is intranscribable, nor uneditable.

The Dragon mask can be seen as an editing tool. A directing tool. Just how a corporeal object became enmeshed in narrative in exactly this manner, I am not sure enough to say. Only that many objects are loosely bound to narrative in other manners. The Tsam mask collection it was donated as part of, for example – One could say Souls directed Muses with any of them, in a previous era, acting out Buddhist stories.
The dragon mask is fundamentally different. It can be used to redirect muses. To alter a narrative underway.
This is not exactly what the muses told me. Conveyed. This is an assumption. One I very much want to test… but one that could have huge ramifications on the worlds of Souls if not done properly.
Or not. Spacetime, the Ethereal, could both be entirely more safeguarded then I currently am aware of. Still. I am a masdwoman and not to be trusted with this knowledge, and yet the whole world has the chance to be both mad AND violent. I must act as if I could catch the atmosphere on fire.
