Hummuns have several radiation sensors. High resolution arrays are present in “eyes”, three sets of wavelenght sensors (peak sensitivities 420nm, 530nm, 560nm my their own units) with some filtering due to containment apparatus, that are closely corrolated into what is labeled color vision. There is also a distributed system for sensing infered, though thes system is relatily low resolution and uncorrelated.
As one might expect, this paticular correlation of senses is far from the stamdard for species on Hummus.
Higher and lower energy radiations – even the infered, were largely unknown to hummuns before the current radio era, which accounts for the power put behind early transmissions; they only had to deal with the heat of poorly matched antennas.
That said, their concepts of psychic communication overlap well with methods forbidden by black speech, including it being a potential source of mental stress and damage.
