So you know the Triumvirate, right? Yeah, only 8 Iu’husid years ago. 6 sessions have completed there. One third for military appointments, one third for civilian elected – and the damn dark seats.

Sure. Some have come out as filling the seats in the 5th session. Three goos of dozens, certainly never to be invited to serve again. They don’t even publish the numbers from the votes.

No mention of staff, offices. Still almost a third of the main building unaccounted for.

There’s two big conspiracy theories.

I mean, ask Ɬare. They exist. If they didn’t exist we wouldn’t even know whata short jump drive is, much less have three. But the ones the government traded for are over a gross cycles old. They may keep running for another million years, but we’re stil no closer to making our own. So the government trades political power for more drives. Or some wierd tech we can’t even think of.

Or.

The dictators.

I mean. It could be descendants of the old dictators. Nothing says the last ones were entirely killed off. Just that some of them were, and they can’t be caught doing the mind enslavy thing or they risk the death penalty. But that doesn’t make sense – memories lost between generations of the strain, eventually they’d be only good for making slaves.

But some think it’s the original dictators. Crystalized of old age. Or maybe assassination was some means of speeding up aging. Maybe they have every dictator, hooked up in a mess of wires, forever in argument over a mess of electral contacts about the best course of action. Maybe they rollout one at a time, using it till its crystal remains degrade in to what the living would consider unintelligibility.

Of course. Both might be planted rumors.
