The goos have a set of printer stations on the ship. These are not little boxes working on a grid, trapped on cartesian 3d axises. They slightly resemple a set of robot arms – a pair of spiders on the ceiling and floor working together in a dance, the zone specifcly programed to jave microgravity so the object is built floating mid air (though they can cart out the vacumn container walls if really needed)

Arms for gusts of air to cancle movement, arms for cooling, arms for somthing like the plastic filaments we use, metal powders, induction heaters, subtle direct pokes and prods, stuff that they refuse to explain to humans at all.

There been some suggestion that, had they a mind to, a goo could be printed like a filament; but that runs into several phobias and dangers, one of which humans would deminish as claustrophobia, another as lack of control. But pipettes and needles as concepts are not well liked.

This printer is not the only manufacturing process on the Third Pathlayer, but the others are much less visicle chemical processes, and merely assembling parts from storage to neede configuratioms.
